Farlig Vandring

When we heard instrument like the Mellotron we often think to ANGLAGARD which is a great reference for the song 'Farlig Vandring' as well as KING CRIMSON in the very beginnig of the song, but the music here contain a great jazzy feeling cause of the Saxophone over a strange rime in the RIO style or over the like of the canterbury style where is preserves the great Scandinavian feeling. The second song 'Ellipsoidisk Karusell' also contain the like of ANGLAGARD and the RIO style, the song end with a very joyfull and folky ending. Until now that's enough calm, the music doesn't contain any really hard elements. In the next song 'Utrygge Trøfler', entering with a short part with some Metalophone, the song move toward a much spacey part before entering in another part like THE SOFT MACHINE or HATFIELD, but with a little arty side. The guys pursuit with the same as before starting from the spacey part and less arty in the ending part.

'Agraphia' the next track should be insert also in the Canterbury style, very soft another time, it's looks like to an chamber-arty/jazz , with some nice guitar on the first half and some nice mellotron in the second peak, it's very beautiful, a song that should be a natural shooting. With a name like 'Sykkelgnomflaten' (The bycicle Gnome Bug) we can imagine to a very weird song, in fact it's the more eventful one from the CD until know, this song really looks like to ANGLAGARD in their lower moment but enhanced with a very nice playing on Saxophone, the peak of the song at the end contain a guitar solo another time like ANGLAGARD. This song mixed ANGLAGARD and Jazz finaly but in a weird way, maybe RIO ??? and with some complexes short parts. The last song much more joyful and dance at the beginning, but already turned toward a much progressive and powerfull section with big guitar. This song is the more progressive from all, I mean with the the better bow of tension in it with not les than 4 peak time from with a very nice ending.

This CD at the end, sound very Scandinavian in many way, right with the folk trend, the mystic trend always in the background of their music, very specific to them. Arty-rock / Canterbury / Rio style / Jazz-rock compose the music here. Excellent CD another time, well no one can tell me that progressive music is dead !
